When we were pups, my siblings and I loved the gnu song. For my sister’s birthday last year I designed and embroidered these pillow cases featuring the gnu and a gnother gnu.
This was the first time I’ve seen them in situ (having just stayed at her place in Syria last week) and I’m pretty pleased with them, even if the placement of the design is a bit stupid and random. Apols for the terrible photo, it was a last minute bit of low-light iPhone-ography.
If I’d given myself more time, I’d probably have filled in the gnu pictures too.

Date stamp wrapping paper! What a ridiculously brilliant idea that I would never have thought of in a million years.

I saw this awesome magazine in Borders yesterday - $14.99 is always going to be a bit steep for a magazine though.

This is cute, and I would totally make it if I hadn’t already amassed five - FIVE! - egg cosies. No idea how this happened. I do love boiled eggs but still; five!

Needlepoint QR codes! So lame that it’s actually kind of cool.

Embroidering cursive is my new favourite game.

This is really cute, but my family already uses fabric as gift wrap - any old scraps will do, you can always embroider or stencil new patterns on. I do really like this one though, if only it didn’t say “I wheelie like you”… groan.
