The word itself is a beautiful thing. It comes from Latin — amo, amas, amat — because the base meaning of amateur is one who does it, not for pay, but for love, obsession, because there’s no way they cannot do it.

Bradford Cox’s lengthy My Sharona
At a recent Atlas Sound show in Minneapolis, it seems that a drunk heckler shouted for Bradford Cox’s crew to play My Sharona. This made Cox so cross, that he apparently decided to play a jam version of the Knack’s hit for almost an hour. The person who uploaded this clip says, “This was one of the best live experiences I’ve had”. CS
